Do you want to keep your surfboard looking nice, longer, while expressing your artistic side? Well of course you do! Standard acrylic paints look great and can achieve this effect but tend to fade over time. Another option is mixing polyester, or epoxy, resins, colorants and applying it directly to the foam which creates a foam stain.

Otis pours the resin out of the bucket and right onto the middle of the surfboard.

A foam stain using Fiberglass Hawaii colorants will hold it’s color better over time because of the UV stability of the colorants and resin which will also increase your resale value. Take a look at some of the variations Otis from the Surfboard Factory Hawaii produces using Fiberglass Hawaii products. It’s fun, easy and a great way to keep your board looking like new for years to come.

Remember this: whatever colors hit the board first are the ones that are going to stick.
